15 years ago I had my wisdom teeth taken out. I was saving an album I bought for my recovery week, which was Aesop Rock’s Labor Days, all I did was listen to that album (as well as Eric B and Rakim’s Paid in Full tbh). I listened to Labor Days over and over and always caught something new in it, the perfect kind of album when you’re on the mend. A couple years later I would start my own campus hip hop radio show, which I would hold onto for my 4 years of Uni. The first song I played was Aesop Rock’s “Daylight”. Tonight I finally got to catch him live, so big shout outs to @aesoprockwins and @homeboysandman for rolling through Calgary and putting on a great performance.
